I am SO glad I bought this vacuum. I had a Dyson for years, but I got so tired of having to cut hair out of the brush at the bottom that I didn't want to vacuum very often. Today was the first day I used the BISSELL; there are a couple things I would suggest/improve, but overall, I would buy this vacuum again in a heartbeat because of its incredible suction, the headlights (watching the cat litter shake on the carpet before being zapped up was everything), AND the fact that there was NO hair at all on the brush at the bottom after FOUR rounds of vacuuming. Where Bissell could improve would be to have consistent directions (i.e. the leaflet they included had different instructions than the smaller instruction card that was tied to the wand) and a better way of emptying the canister. The Dyson's button to empty the canister was up higher, but this button is right by the "lid" that pops open. I highly recommend doing this over a trash can in your garage while wearing a mask, because the amount of dust that came out was unreal. Also, be careful if you have just used the wand and lift up the canister to be emptied, because not all of the contents had made it down to the canister. I had a huge mess to clean up, but the vacuum made that mess go away quickly. Now that my cat has switched to an olive pit-based litter that has no dust at all, I am so glad that I will not have to deal with such crazy litter dust anymore. This is the vacuum I wish I had bought years ago. If you have a cat and have a ton of litter dust, this is a great vacuum to buy.

Okay, if you're a loser like me and you get excited about cleaning products, prepare to be giddy. I was a little concerned after reading the 1 star reviews and granted I just got this vacuum so hopefully it is made to last; but here is my honest opinion...although it's ok the pricey-ish side, you get what you pay for. I have two fluffy Pomeranians and one cat who is a shed machine. I also have different types of area rugs in each room. One washable rug that you cannot use a brush roll on, a couple of medium rugs and a couple of shag rugs. This vacuum has multiple settings for all of my needs, including bare floor. Before I tossed my old vacuum, I used it to go over all of my carpets and then I used this one right afterward. The amount of dirt and fur that this vacuum pulled up was. a)concerning as I probably should have upgraded years ago and b) incredibly impressive. The long wand makes cleaning corners and crevices a breeze- but the absolute GAME CHANGER are the lights at the base of the vacuum as well as on the crevice tool. If you think your bare floors are clean, I double dog dare you to light it up with this machine. I was SHOOK at how dirty my hardwood floors were, especially because I use my cordless stick vacuum on them every other day. I couldn't believe how much fur and cat litter there was on my floors. As someone who cleans constantly, I was pretty grossed out. The bare floor setting works incredibly well. I truly hope that this machine stands the test of time because so far, I love it.

Note* when I first received the vacuum, the crevice tool light didn't work. I contacted BISSELL and they sent me a new one right away. Great customer service!

I purchased directly from Bissell.com. I received it on time and the minimal amount of assembly was easy with quick view instructions. Upon first use, I was absolutely amazed at what it was pulling out of my carpets! I was disgusted, too, at what it was pulling out of my carpets and realized that our former vaccuum (Dyson) was not doing its job! I have long hair and 3 cats. My former vaccuum's brush roller quit working due to hair build-up. Instead of buying the new part needed for repair I decided to go with a new one. I am so happy I did. This vaccuum is lightweight, low profile to fit under and between tight spaces, bagless, easy to clean filters, has great accessories, tank removes from foot for easy overhead cleaning, hose easy to engage while in process of vacuuming (you don't have to fight it.) Best of all, the brush roller is truly self-cleaning! Absolutely no hair build-up! My carpets were so clean after first use. I tested how clean by putting on a clean pair of black socks and walking around the house. I was very pleased. It also works great on rugs and bare floors. The switches to turn brush off/on and to raise or lower according to carpet profile are on the handle and easy to access.
Overall, I am thrilled as one can be about the purchase of a vaccuum cleaner, lol. I definitely recommend it!

I received the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Lift-Off Vacuum for free in exchange for my honest opinion. I have a gorgeous long-haired Australian Shepherd in my family and I love her with everything in me. As a long-haired, double-coated dog, she is constantly shedding and her hair gets EVERYWHERE! Not only her hair, but she also brings in a lot of sand, dirt, and other elements from the outdoors which gets embedded deeply into the carpets, rugs, and furniture. I didn't realize just how much my previous vacuum (also advertised for pet hair) was leaving behind. I was always having to go in with different tools to pick up all of the hair and I had no idea that the suction wasn't picking up all of the debris deep down inside of the carpets and rugs. After using this Bissell vacuum just once, I quickly found out how abysmal of a job my previous vacuum was doing. My carpets look practically brand new now, the amount of dust, dirt, hair, etc the Bissell picked up made my carpets look as if I took a shampoo vacuum to them! I'm amazed how easily the main floor attachment pivots around and can get right up against walls, and under furniture with ease. The bright lights on the main floor attachment also make it impossible to miss anything. I love the lift-off feature, it detaches from the floor piece and can be carried around by the canisters handle. It's so lightweight that my arms don't get tired, nor am I left struggling with a tipping upright now if I move a little too far. The metal wand detaches and attaches to the main hose to give you more length to reach high and low. The slanted corner attachment even has a bright light! You will not miss any cobwebs or dusty corners that always seem to collect piles of dog hair, and the hose attachment sucks everything right up just as good as the floor piece. The attachment stamped pivot is great for cleaning furniture, and made my girls' doggie bed look newly purchased. She was excited to roll around on it to get her scent back on it!
